Questions and answers
Short, straight answers about launching and running your website with Keynate. Can’t find yours? Ask us on the Help page.
Getting started
What is Keynate?
Keynate sets up your news website, blog, job portal or help center on your own server, automatically. You pick a design, make it yours, choose a plan and pay. There is no developer and no coding.
Do I need to be technical?
No. There is no coding. If you add your own web address, the only manual step is copying two settings into your domain account, with copy buttons and steps for each.
How long until I am live?
Building your website usually takes minutes after payment. If you add your own web address, its settings can take a little longer to reach everyone.
Do I need a web address?
No. Your website opens on a free address first. Add your own (like yournews.com) when you are ready. We show you how, step by step.
Can I try it before I pay?
Yes. Every design has a live website demo, and you can open the real admin and the app demo too. You only pay at the last step.
Which languages?
Your website can run in Hindi, English and 53 languages in all.
Pricing and billing
How much does it cost each month?
You pay one all-in monthly price, and you see it before you pay. It covers your plan, the design and your own secure server, and in India it includes GST. Each design shows its own monthly total for your country.
What is “your own server” and why is it included?
It is a private computer in a data centre that runs only your website. It keeps your site fast and your data yours. It is part of the price.
Why does the price depend on my country?
Prices are set per country. The price is locked to the country you visit from for the whole checkout: entering a billing address in another country never changes the amount or the currency. Your invoice follows your billing country.
How do I pay?
You pay online through Razorpay, our payment partner. Before each renewal we email you an invoice with the amount, the due date and a pay link.
Can I add features later?
Yes. Paid extras (add-ons) can be added to your site at any time, on any plan. Features already in your plan show as included.
Can I cancel?
Yes. You can cancel anytime before your next renewal. Your site keeps running until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Refunds
What if setup fails?
You get a full refund, automatically. If we cannot set up your site, you do not pay for it.
Can I get a refund after my site is live?
A billing period that has already started is not refunded, and unused days are not pro-rated. If you were charged for a renewal after you cancelled, or charged twice by mistake, write to us within 7 days and we refund that charge.
How long does a refund take?
Approved refunds go back to your original payment method and usually arrive in 5 to 7 business days. Your bank may take longer to show it.
Mobile apps
Do I get mobile apps?
Yes, if you want them. Android and iPhone apps are optional, priced separately and published on your own store account. Your website is always included.
Do I need my own Google Play or App Store account?
Yes. Your apps are published under your own developer accounts, so they belong to you. Google and Apple charge their own developer fees for those accounts.
Do the website and the app look the same?
Yes. Your app uses the same design, name and stories as your website, so readers get one brand everywhere.
AI
Can AI edit my website?
Yes. Your admin has an AI assistant that changes your site from plain words, like “make the header dark blue”. Every change is saved as a version you can undo. It needs an 8 GB server, which is today’s standard size.
Can AI help me write?
Yes. AI headline, summary and SEO suggestions inside the editor are a paid add-on, and you choose what to keep. AI can also draft translations into 53 languages, and a person reviews them before they go live.
What is AI Autopilot?
AI Autopilot is coming soon. It will let AI write and publish stories for you, with optional auto-approval, and it is planned for the Pro Ultra Max plan. Without it, AI writing stays a draft until a person publishes it.
Ownership and updates
Who owns my website?
You do. Your web address, your own server and your data. Your site runs on a server used only by your business, not a shared platform.
What if an update breaks my site?
Nothing changes until you say yes. If an update fails its health check, it rolls back by itself. You can also undo any change later.
Can I take my content with me?
Yes. You can export your content from your site’s admin at any time.
What happens after I cancel?
Your site keeps running until the end of the period you paid for. Then it becomes read-only and goes offline when its server is removed. We keep an encrypted final backup for 60 days so you can come back, then we delete it.
Will this get me into Google News or earn money?
No one can promise that, and we do not. Your site has a Google-News-ready structure and loads fast. Google decides about approval. Earnings depend on your work.
Help and support
How do I get help?
Start with the AI in your own admin dashboard: it is the fastest way to fix a technical problem. You can also read the guides at support.keynate.com, raise a ticket from the Help page or email [email protected]. Support by email and the help centre is monitored daily, Monday to Saturday, 10:00 to 18:00 IST.
Is there phone or WhatsApp support?
No. Keynate has no phone or WhatsApp support. Help comes through the AI in your dashboard, the help centre, tickets and email.
