How to delete your data

Keynate lets news publishers connect their own Facebook, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, YouTube and Pinterest accounts to their own website so articles can be shared automatically. This page explains what is stored and how to remove it.

What is stored

  • Page or account ids, display names and the channel type (for example a Facebook Page).
  • Access tokens, stored encrypted on the publisher’s own server. Keynate’s connection broker never stores readable tokens.
  • A log of what was published through the connection (post ids and time).

We do not collect your friends, messages, private posts or advertising data.

Disconnect a channel yourself

  1. Sign in to your News admin.
  2. Open Social, then Channels.
  3. Choose the channel and select Disconnect. The stored tokens and ids for that channel are deleted from your server.

You can also remove the Keynate app from the platform itself: Facebook and Instagram (Settings, Business integrations), Threads (Settings, Website permissions), LinkedIn (Settings, Data privacy, Permitted services), Google (Security, Third-party access) and Pinterest (Settings, Apps).

Request deletion

Email contact@keynate.com from the address on your Keynate account, naming the website and the channel. We confirm within 7 days and complete deletion within 30 days.

Deletion requested from Facebook or Instagram

If you remove the Keynate app in Facebook or Instagram settings and ask for your data to be deleted, Meta notifies us automatically. You receive a confirmation code and can check the status at /data-deletion/status.
